The Old Bailey Online

The Old Bailey, somewhat mundanely known as the Central Criminal Court, has been a cornerstone of legal life in London since around 1539 in one form or another. Research Buzz reports on the availability of a fully-searchable online database of accounts of criminal trials held at London's central criminal court. Currently 22,000 trials, from December 1714 to December 1759, are available. The site is at This is a fantastic site, I've already spent a couple of hours just browsing it.
