Climbing up walls...

Via Biz Stone a heads up on an article at New Scientist describing how Gecko Man is just around the corner. Researchers at Manchester University say, "A new material covered with nanoscopic hairs that mimic those found on geckos' feet could allow people to walk up to sheer surfaces and across ceilings." Apparently it all relies on a phenomenon called the "van der Waals force."

The article goes on, "The researchers believe the material could have many applications, from new types of vehicle tyre to robots that can climb up walls."

This sounds cool. I want some.
