Galloway documents are fakesGalloway seeks inquiry after papers exposed as fakes - referring of course to the documents purporting to show that George Galloway MP was in the employ of the Iraqi Regime. The papers in question, the fakes, are the ones the Christian Science Monitor based their allegations upon, subsequently reprinted in the UK by The Sun I think. One of the folk who pronounced the documents fake though spoke to the authenticity of the documents used by the Daily Telegraph - that is yet to be resolved through the courts. I wonder how much of an effort it would have been for the CS Monitor, and for that matter, The Daily Telegraph to have the documents checked out before going to print. Assuming that the answer is not a lot then George Galloway is right to have refused their apology. Posted by Paul at June 23, 2003 06:11 AM |
