Blogstakes

Via Zeldman is news of the launch of Blogstakes. There are two initial contests, Free BrowserCam for a Year and the Clip-n-Seal Fresh Party Pack.

The idea is you click on one of those links from my site and if you win the contest then I win one of those super-cool prizes too... Which all adds up to a pretty clever way to harness the power of bloggers (through their self-interest) to promote your product through a contest.

"Blogstakes is a unique new kind of sweepstakes with two winners for every prize: a person who entered and the site that referred the winning entry. So if the prize is a truck, then the winning entry gets a truck and the blog that sent them gets a truck too."

Nice idea.
