Managed to pick up a few late tickets for the comedian Ed Byrne on Saturday Night at the Assembly Rooms. Not being over familiar with him beforehand meant that we really had no idea what to expect, tho' I did recognise his name.
Running 20 minutes late, the performance didn't start until 22:40. It was however worth the wait. Ed riffed on Smoking and Big Brother and Girlfriends and Travel, refreshingly there was no politics at all. His fast Irish talk was for a few moments pretty hard for me to understand, but I got there. Material was very funny. Especially throw away lines which often turned a funny observation into absurdity.
