I managed to miss this article a couple of weeks ago in the Guardian, Lib Dem radicals call for pro-market switch. Seemingly riding high on a wave of anti-war support, several so called 'young turks' in the party are to publish 'The Orange Book: Reclaiming Liberalism' [Amazon UK] which promotes an agenda of 'tough liberal' policies which reflect a more pro-market and eurosceptic stance. Examples proposals are apparently, social insurance system in health, reining back the regulatory state and greater use of market forces to address the global environmental crisis. The book, which is published on Thursday 19th, includes contributions from MPs and MEPs David Laws, Edward Davey, Vince Cable, Steve Webb, Chris Huhne, Nick Clegg and Mark Oaten. (via Demos)
