Comment / Review of Charles to marry Camilla from Politics
" BBC says, Prince Charles is set to marry his long-term partner Camilla Parker-Bowles. I think that's nice. I also think that it is funny that Radio 4 had a special little bulletin just to pass on the news.... "

My husband and I are happy for Prince Charles and Camilla to marry, but feel it would be inappropriate for him to become King, following Her Majesties 'moving on'.

It would be more correct for 'Prince William' to take the throne, and under the circumstances, feel that would be more acceptable to the General Public.

uhu. i see...

With all respect for your opinion Patricia, how exactly would it be more correct? Constitutionally? Politically? Morally?

Constitutionally it makes perfect sense to me for C & C to become King & Queen, politically King & Princess Consort seems to be good in terms of equality of the sexes. Morally, well really. Who are we to take positions? I mean, let he who is without fault cast the first stone.

The monarchy will continue to survive only with the consent of the people. I believe many of us feel that Diana had a very raw deal.Charles has never been popular, and has alienated huge numbers of his future subjects on the issue of bloodsports. This wedding will upset many of those who follow the Christian faith. Camilla, remains deeply unpopular; things have not moved very much since the days bread rolls were thrown at her, in a supermarket. The Constitution is unwritten and fluid, intangible, but very real feelings of hostility will eventually have a fairly profound effect; I believe that the Republicans will be a force to be reckoned with, when this Queeen dies. Its not so much a matter of what can or cannot be done, but if it is wise to do so.

I think Charles should do whatever he wants to do. I am a Republican. Perhaps it might be nice to bring this wedding forward, one week from the 8 th of April

I seem to remember that the 1 st Charles was a rather weak, wilful man, frequantly given poor advice, and married to a deeply unpopular Queen.

Whatever happened to him?
