Second year of Law School

Tuesday brings with it the start of second year at the Edinburgh School of Law, and the end of the longest holiday I've enjoyed in years! I'm currently poring over course choices and wrestling with the decision of whether to go down the route of choosing the most courses possible which are acceptable to the Law Society (to make practicing law an easier option eventually) or to take the courses which appeal to me most. Unfortunately, the courses which appeal the most are the ones which ultimately gear you up for a job at the EU or UN and not in lucrative private practice! As yet I don't really grasp how much of an impediment the latter choice would be should I (in three years - and three years is a long time in law and politics) opt for the former course of action, and of course vice versa. That said, there's not much I can do about it until I do know more and so I might as well make the most of my last Sunday of vacation time.

I'm off to do something.
